The Shoebox Project
"For women who have been displaced from their homes and estranged from their families, special occasions can be particularly challenging."
The Shoebox Project collects and distributes shoeboxes full of gifts for women in need across Canada and the US. Tamarack Homes has been a proud partner of the Shoebox project for the last few years.
In 2018, our Tamarack Homes sales offices and our head office served as drop-off points for individuals across Ottawa to bring their shoeboxes. Each shoebox was thoughtfully filled with items that would make any women feel special including: toiletries, scarves, socks, games, gift cards, chocolate, and much more. In the weeks leading up to Christmas, our team collected hundreds of shoeboxes at each of our locations. On the final day of collection, all boxes were brought to our head office where a team of volunteers sorted, checked, and organized the shoeboxes for distribution to local women's shelters. In total, more than 3700 shoeboxes were filled and delivered to women in need in the Ottawa area. Tamarack Homes is proud to have been part of this wonderful initiative and we look forward to participating again in future years.
